Jan 19, 2012 Statement on "legitimate concerns" about SOPA
“Protecting intellectual property is vital to preserving our nation’s leadership in innovation, but legitimate concerns have been raised about some of the unintended consequences of SOPA. Having listened carefully to these concerns, I believe that both sides of this critically important issue should now work together in good faith to find a way forward, so we can effectively fight online piracy, which costs the U.S. economy billions of dollars a year and destroys thousands of American jobs.”
